The closures include:
- Googong Dam southern entrance (off London Bridge Road) and northern picnic area
- Tharwa Bridge recreation area
- Tharwa Sandwash
- Majura Pines recreation area (closed until at least Friday 7 October 2016)
The ACT Government urges park users to exercise extreme caution due to the wet conditions and risk of fallen trees.
There are also a number of road closures in Namadgi National Park including Boboyan Road and Brindabella Road which are only open to four wheel drives. Various fire trails, management roads and low level crossings such as at Pierces Creek are also closed.
