Executive Branch Manager, ACT Parks and Conservation Service, Justin Foley has made the decision to close additional reserve areas for the safety of visitors to ACT Parks and Reserves during the current State of Emergency and elevated fire danger.

"A State of Emergency has been declared for the ACT and fires continue to burn in the Namadgi National Park. I have decided to close additional reserves for the safety of the public. " Mr Foley said.

The following nature reserves will remain closed until 11.59pm Monday 3 February 2020:

  • Bullen Range (east)
  • Stony Creek (east)
  • Uriarra Crossing
  • Casuarina Sands
  • Kambah Pool
  • Pine Island
  • Point Hut Crossing and
  • Cotter Campground.
