The annual Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve Open Day is back showcasing the natural and cultural wonders of the iconic Tidbinbilla Valley.
Tidbinbilla Open Day is a free event for all visitors to enjoy some live entertainment and discover the important conservation work that is undertaken in the reserve.
Learn all about current programs, conservation activities, recreational and volunteer opportunities and celebrate First Nations culture. The event will be held at the Nature Discovery Playground within the reserve and will offer fun for the whole family and visitors of all ages, such as:
- Activities and tours provided by local Ngunnawal businesses and ACT Parks and Conservation Service Rangers
- Kids NaturePlay activities with ParkCare volunteers
- Live snake display and talks by ACT Snake Removals
- Food from local vendors like Scott’s food vans, the Lions Club of Canberra Belconnen, Jarochos, the Chameleon Icecreamery and SV Coffee & Bakery
- Live music by the Paverty Bush Band
- Displays by the National Parks Association of the ACT, ACT Wildlife, Tidbinbilla Pioneers Association, Outward Bound, ACT Fire and Rescue, State Emergency Service, Rural Fire Service, Canberra Bushwalking Club and Brindabella Bushwalking Club
- Fun kids activities including facepainting.
Tidbinbilla Open Day is on Sunday, 29 September from 10am to 2pm. All activities and entry to the reserve is free. Food and drink vendors will be cash only.
