Released 22/10/2022

Floriade, Australia’s Biggest Celebration of Spring, attracted more than 427,000 people for its first year back after a two-year hiatus.

This years’ theme the Sounds of Spring saw visitors from around Australia and overseas enjoy over a million blooms set amongst music, entertainment and horticultural installations.

Running from 17 September to 16 October, Floriade welcomed a total of 427,768 visitors to Commonwealth Park, ranking in the top ten attendance figures in the event’s 35 year history.

NightFest also returned with a refreshed new format and saw strong attendance, with two of the four nights selling out.

NightFest delivered a full program with highlights including free massages and chilled out sounds on the Unwind nights and exciting acts like Muesli,19-Twenty, Super Massive and Los Chavos on the Invigorate nights.

With its focus on attracting interstate and international visitors, Floriade showcased some of the best products from our region including Canberra District Wines, Capital Brewing Co. and Agostinis, who joined this years’ range of local food vendors and market stalls.

The ACT Government will continue to invest in events that provide a quality visitor experience and strong economic returns to the Territory.

Preparations are already underway for Floriade 2023, which will return to Commonwealth Park from Saturday 16 September to Sunday 15 October 2023. It’s theme, Floral Wonderland will create a sense of wonder and enchantment through an immersive experience. We hope for better weather and a new attendance record.
