Canberra business creating buzz named ACT Exporter of the Year

Released 20/08/2024

A Canberra business revolutionising the art of beekeeping has been named ACT Exporter of the Year at the 2024 ACT Chief Minister's Export Awards on Tuesday evening.

HiveiQ is on a mission to create the world’s best beehives, using advanced materials, sensors and software to ensure thriving bee colonies year-round.

Beehives are made of expanded polystyrene rather than timber, creating better-insulated environments for honeybees.

The technology is being used by beekeepers across the globe to create stronger colonies of healthy and productive bees.

I congratulate CEO Victor Croker and the HiveiQ team for this significant achievement as they continue to create buzz among apiarists in Australia and around the world.

HiveiQ’s technology is making beekeeping easier and more efficient for its customers, from hobbyists to large businesses.

HiveiQ was also named this year’s Emerging Exporter. The fact an emerging exporter has been named ACT Exporter of the Year is testament to HiveiQ’s early success.

I also wish to congratulate the other businesses recognised at this year’s ACT Chief Minister's Export Awards. These businesses continue to promote Canberra on the world stage, showcasing our city’s innovation and creativity to an international audience.
