VisitCanberra’s Instagram content attracted 84.6 million views this year, reflecting the city’s growing profile as a destination worth exploring.

These posts don’t just look good – they inspire people to plan a visit, explore neighbourhoods and enjoy Canberra’s year-round events.

Major events continued to dominate audience engagement throughout the year, with highlights including FLIGHT Canberra, the Canberra Balloon Spectacular, Skyfire, and the Enlighten Festival.

These iconic celebrations captured the imagination of locals and visitors alike, driving strong views across platforms and reinforcing Canberra’s reputation as an events destination.

Beyond major events, everyday moments proved just as captivating. Posts featuring snowfall and dramatic weather sparked thousands of shares and comments, while local discoveries—from new bars to dining hotspots—drove high save rates, with Bar Outro’s reel alone shared over 5,100 times.

  2. Snow covered Canberra from @air.down received just under 300,000 views and almost 6,000 shares.
  3. Canberra Balloon Spectacular views from above got 247,900 views.
  4. Canberra ranking as the best city in the world for quality of life reached over 215,000 views.
  5. Anzac Day reflections featuring the Australian War Memorial was viewed just under 200,000 times.
