Have your say to make ACT parks and reserves even better

Released 16/03/2021

Canberrans are being encouraged to take part in a short survey to help improve visitor experiences in our parks, reserves and forests.

Minister for Land Management Mick Gentleman said ongoing work to understand who is using our parks and reserves and what they are using them for would help make visitor experiences even better.

“We know how highly Canberrans value our natural environment and we want to make sure that our parks and reserves continue to provide great experiences,” Minister Gentleman said.

“This survey will give us a better picture of visitor expectations and satisfaction and help us ensure we get the most out of our unique and diverse landscape. We are fortunate to have great access to nature reserves, national parks and pine forests close to where we live.

“We will also be conducting face-to-face surveys so keep an eye out for our friendly volunteers if you’re heading to Tidbinbilla, Namadgi or one of our 39 Canberra Nature Park reserves.”

Quotes attributable to Daniel Iglesias, Director of ACT Parks and Conservation Service:

“The results from this survey will be one of the most valuable tools we will have to connect directly with the Canberra community.

“Our parks and reserves already support conservation of plants and our wildlife, offer great vistas and provide endless recreational opportunities.

“The results will allow us to continue making real, positive changes that will keep our parks and reserves places that everyone can enjoy.”
