Namadgi and Tidbinbilla visitor centres reopening

Released 19/11/2021

The Namadgi National Park and Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve visitor centres are reopening and ready to welcome back visitors after they were closed as part of the public health response.

“Namadgi and Tidbinbilla are looking fantastic after recent rains, so with the visitor centre reopening, now is the perfect time to head out and explore our national parks,” Minister for Planning and Land Management Mick Gentleman said.

“Our Parks and Conservation staff have been working hard during the recent lockdown to ensure that we are ready to welcome back the community in a COVID-safe way,” he said.

“You’ll see new features in our visitors’ centres such as cashless payments, sanitising stations, and protective shields.”

“We also heard through the recent Parks and Reserves Visitor Satisfaction Survey that Namadgi National Park and Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve are our two most visited parks in the ACT, with 80 per cent of respondents saying they felt safe during their visits.

“This remains our top priority in the reopening of the visitor centres, and we ask the community to continue to check-in using the Check In CBR App, practice good hand hygiene and physical distance where practical.”
