Clinical Leadership Forum expanding

Released 24/06/2021

The ACT Government is seeking expressions of interest from health experts to fill three new positions on the advisory ACT Clinical Leadership Forum.

The Clinical Leadership Forum was established in 2019 to provide expert advice to the Minister for Health and the Minister for Mental health about public health services in the ACT.

Minister for Health Rachel-Stephen Smith said the Clinical Leadership Forum was a valuable group that contributed greatly to the planning of policies and services in the ACT public health system.

“Members of the Clinical Leadership Forum represent a diverse range of health specialties and experiences.

“To continue building an integrated health system, we want to ensure we are hearing from experts across all areas of the health system. To support this goal, we are expanding the Forum to 12 members, with one additional member from each of general practice, allied health and nursing or midwifery,” said Minister Stephen-Smith.

The forum meets at least quarterly and focuses on:

  • Territory-wide health service delivery
  • Territory-wide health service infrastructure planning
  • Clinical culture, planning and practice
  • Workforce planning
  • Education and training
  • Health and medical research

Expressions of interest are due by Friday 9 July 2021, to be submitted through the ACT Diversity Register at https://www.diversityregister.act.gov.au/.
