The new South Tuggeranong Health Centre in Conder has reached another milestone with the Development Application being publicly notified.
Minister for Health Rachel Stephen-Smith said it was another exciting step towards delivering the new South Tuggeranong Health Centre.
“This is a key milestone for the new South Tuggeranong Health Centre that will ensure we can continue delivering more health services, closer to home for the Tuggeranong community.”
“We have consulted widely with the community and health services in planning for the design of the health centre. The team worked closely with its architect partners to design a facility that respects the existing natural environment and incorporates what we have heard through consultation.
“Public notification of the Development Application is another opportunity for the Tuggeranong community to provide input on the detailed facility plans and I encourage everyone in the local community to have a look and provide feedback,” said Minister Stephen-Smith.
The design of the new Health Centre in Conder features consultation rooms and a multi-purpose space that will support a range of specialities and non-government organisations to deliver services.
Services will include:
- paediatrics
- pathology collection
- dementia care
- diabetes clinics
- falls and falls injury prevention
- chronic disease programs
- a virtual care space for people to access specialist services closer to where they live.
“The ACT Government is committed to providing free public health care closer to home, and the new Health Centre in Conder is another step forward on this commitment,” said Minister Stephen-Smith.
“We will continue to invest in health infrastructure and services across the ACT to ensure Canberrans can access the right healthcare, in the right place and at the right time.”
Early design work and planning is currently underway for new Health Centres in North Gungahlin, the Inner South and West Belconnen. The Government recently completed consultation on the services for the health centres in the Inner South and North Gungahlin.
