Gomeroi man, internationally renowned rapper and master storyteller Kobie Dee will headline an inclusive community event to mark the Reconciliation Day public holiday on Monday 2 June 2025.
The family friendly event, hosted at Commonwealth Park, is a significant occasion for all Canberrans to come together and reflect on our shared history, culture, and achievements as we strive for a truly inclusive future.
The ACT is the only state or territory to have a public holiday for Reconciliation Day and the 2025 event promises to be special with Kobie Dee's powerful and inspiring performance set to captivate audiences.
Known for his thought-provoking lyrics and dynamic stage presence, Kobie Dee is a prominent voice in the Australian music scene, advocating for social justice and the rights of First Nations peoples.
His powerful music and work with the next generation exemplifies the 2025 National Reconciliation Week Theme ‘Bridging Now to Next’ – reflecting the ongoing connection between past, present and future and the aspiration for a more inclusive Australia for future generations.
The ACT Reconciliation Day event will include a variety of family friendly activities, including cultural performances, workshops, and community discussions, all aimed at fostering understanding and respect.
