$180,000 funding for the Women’s Grants Program

Applications are now open for the ACT Women's Grants Program 2020-2021 with $180,000 which provides funding for initiatives aimed at improving the safety, status and lives of women and girls in the ACT.

The ACT Government is committed to supporting women and girls through innovative programs that advance gender equality, address women's safety and empower women to succeed.

The Women's Safety Grants, totalling $100,000, will support projects to reduce violence against women and their children.

The Participation Grants, totalling $80,000, will support innovative projects that improve the status of women and girls in the ACT.

Previous grants have gone towards some terrific programs which include:

  • Women with Disabilities ACT using funding to establish a peer support group for WWDACT members who are currently parents or plan to be parents, to be able to share their unique experiences and the support of a strong network when they need it most.
  • Domestic Violence Crisis Service (DVCS) developing a resource with information on DVCS services in a range of different languages.
  • The Indigenous Marathon Foundation to deliver an online coaching program to improve fitness and self-confidence in Indigenous and non-Indigenous women.
