Celebrating the people behind public education

Released 26/11/2021

The 2021 ACT Public Education Awards recognise the exceptional people in our public-school communities, who have gone above and beyond to ensure all children receive a high-quality public education.

Today, we honour our teachers, school leaders and support staff – plus, the volunteers, allied health professionals and education support teams who work tirelessly to educate and inspire our youth.

The on-going global pandemic has brought many new challenges for our educators - through lockdown and an extended period of remote learning. As always – the response was universally impressive.

This year’s winners include individuals who have shown exceptional leadership during this unprecedented time, a partnership program designed for preschool children with disabilities or vulnerabilities and a well respected STEM academic, who volunteers to share his love of astronomy with schools across the territory.

Thank you to all our public school staff, nominees and award winners for the outstanding contribution you continue to make to education in the ACT.
