Celebrating Excellence in Public Education: Winners of the 2023 ACT Public Education Awards

Released 28/10/2023

The outstanding dedication of the ACT’s public education staff and volunteers has been recognised at the 2023 ACT Public Education Awards.

Minister for Education and Youth Affairs Yvette Berry said: “It is important every day, but especially on World Teacher’s Day, to acknowledge the incredible achievements of our public school teachers, leaders, support staff and volunteers.

“These individuals continue to go above and beyond, ensuring that our children receive a stellar education,” Minister Berry said.

Ms Berry said it had been well-established that teachers are the single most influential factor in shaping the educational outcomes of students, outside of their own personal lives.

“The educational achievements of ACT school students consistently rank at the forefront of the nation, a testament to the unwavering dedication and hard work of our school staff and communities,” Minister Berry said.

“I thank all Canberra public school staff for their commitment to providing students with a high-quality education and ensuring they have the best possible start in life."
