Cabinet (Budget Committee of Cabinet) agreed to the provision of capital funding in the 2020-21 supply period for the commencement of critical infrastructure works at Calvary Public Hospital Bruce.

Ice Sports Facility – Outcome of Expression of Interest Process and Next Steps

Minute number:  20/421/CAB

Cabinet (Budget Committee of Cabinet) agreed, following the completion of an Expression of Interest process, the ACT Government will commence a direct negotiation process with the preferred proponent to prepare a detailed proposal for the delivery of a new ice sports facility in the ACT.

Supporting Vulnerable Students

Cabinet (Budget Committee of Cabinet) agreed to the provision of funding for the 2020-21 financial year for:

  • Continuation of the program and expansion to support 30 student places of the Off-Campus Flexible Learning Program for public high schools as part of the Continuum of Educational Support (Muliyan program);
  • Establishment of an Enrichment Centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children to support disengaged or disconnected students in the transition from remote learning back to on campus learning; and
  • Initiatives targeted at reducing the incidence of occupational violence and providing complex case management support in ACT public schools.

Cabinet agreed to the ACT Transport Strategy 2020.

ACT Carers Strategy Action Plan – Progress Report 2019-2020

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Community Services and Facilities table the ACT Carers Strategy Progress Report 2020 in the Legislative Assembly.

Mental Health Amendment Bill 2020

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Mental Health present the Mental Health Amendment Bill 2020 in the Legislative Assembly. The triple bottom line assessment was considered by Cabinet on 3 March 2020 (CAB19/615 Mental Health Amendment Bill 2020 - policy approval).

ACT Fire & Rescue Staff and Development and Acton Station

Essential Waste Management Infrastructure – Approval for Funding

Cabinet (Budget Committee of Cabinet) agreed to a funding proposal for the Essential Waste Management Infrastructure project to complete the Mugga Landfill Cells 3 and 4.

Tourism and Events Stimulus Package

Minute number:  20/424/CAB

Cabinet (Budget Committee of Cabinet) agreed to funding over two years to support the economic recovery of the tourism, events and hospitality sector in the ACT.

Fee Waivers – ACT Government Sportsgrounds Aquatic Facilities and Stromlo Forest Park

Minute number:  20/447/CAB

Cabinet (Budget Committee of Cabinet) agreed the ACT Government will extend full fee waivers for community and commercial groups hiring Stromlo Forest Park and ACT Government sportsgrounds and education facilities until 31 March 2021. In addition, Cabinet agreed to introduce a fee waiver for pool and lane hire for community and commercial groups at ACT Government aquatic facilities.

ACT Policing emergency cost pressure
