Cabinet endorsed further consultation for the proposed new workers’ compensation scheme for the ACT public sector.

Direct Sale of Block 18 Section 11 Dickson

Cabinet agreed to the direct sale of Block 18 Section 11 Dickson to Best Practice Education Group Limited for the purposes of formalising the existence of the organisation’s use of the land as a preschool.

Open Data Policy

Cabinet agreed to the drafting of a Proactive Release of Data (Open Data) Policy to strengthen the ACT Government’s commitment to Open Government.

Lease Variation Charge (LVC) Review

Cabinet noted the report on the review of the LVC’s performance and agreed to amendments to further simplify its framework.

National Partnership Agreement on Adult Public Dental Services

Cabinet agreed to a one year National Partnership Agreement on Adult Public Dental Services, which will improve the oral health of adult patients who are eligible for public dental service and reduce waiting times for adult public dental patients.

Police Pursuits

Cabinet considered a new pursuits policy in the ACT, and endorsed the development legislative reforms that would support such a policy in order to reduce the number of deaths and serious injuries on ACT roads.

Animal Welfare Legislation Amendment Bill 2016

Cabinet agreed to the drafting of amendments to the Animal Welfare Act 1992 to ensure the efficient operation of the Act to promote and protect the welfare, safety and health of animals.

Building an Integrated Transport Network – Freight Strategy

Cabinet agreed to release the final Building an Integrated Transport Network – Freight Strategy, which aims to improve freight routes, provide suitable freight facilities to accommodate higher mass vehicles, safeguard freight corridors, provide better accessibility to destinations including loading and parking at centres, and provide a safe freight and traffic network that helps manage impacts on the community.

Cabinet endorsed:

  • an appointment to the Brand Canberra Advisory Board;
  • an appointment to the Sentence Administration Board;
  • an appointment to the Radiation Council;
  • a nomination to the ACT Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority Board;
  • an appointment to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Consultative Group; and
  • the appointment of Adjudicators under the Corrections Management Act 2007.
