Library branches closed Wednesday for annual planning day

Released 25/02/2019

All Libraries ACT branches including the ACT Heritage Library will be closed for the annual Libraries ACT Planning and Development Day on Wednesday 27 February 2019.

“The Annual Planning and Development Day is an opportunity for all staff to come together and contribute their thoughts and ideas in planning for future services, programs and initiatives,” Director of Libraries ACT, Vanessa Little said.

“Libraries ACT are open every day, except Public Holidays, so this is the one time of year when library staff can all meet to plan a better library service.

“This closure will include the Home Library Service, the Access Canberra driver license service located at Civic Library as well as Archives ACT located in the new ACT Heritage Library at 255 Canberra Avenue Fyshwick. Regular programs including story time and Giggle & Wiggle will also not run on Wednesday 27 February.

“Online services will remain available for library users. This includes searching, requesting and renewing any items online as well as downloading digital material (eBooks, eAudio, magazines and music). Library items can be returned using the return chutes located outside each Libraries ACT branch.

“All library services will return as normal on Thursday 28 February 2019.”
