Canberra and region residents can request a congratulatory letter from the ACT Chief Minister when celebrating a significant birthday or wedding anniversary.
Letters can be sent for:
- 50th wedding anniversaries, and each year thereafter
- 80th birthdays, and each year thereafter
Requests for a congratulatory letter can be made by the recipient, or by someone on their behalf (for example, a family member).
The request must be accompanied by supporting documentation, which can include:
- copies of a birth certificate, passport or marriage certificate; or
- a statutory declaration with the relevant names and anniversary details. Statutory declaration forms are available at any post office, or online from the Attorney-General's Department.
