Traffic Alert: lane reductions on Northbourne Avenue

Motorists are advised that off-peak lane reductions on Northbourne Avenue will remain in place 24-hours-a-day this week, where required, to manage fatigue levels for traffic management personnel during these exceptionally warm days.

Lane closures are vital for providing a safe working environment for Canberra Metro workers who are working inside the median. Due to the circumstances of extreme heat, these lane closures will not be packed up and will remain in place until further notice.

Areas affected:

• Various northbound and southbound sections along Northbourne Avenue and Flemington Road,

Motorists are encouraged to observe all traffic management measures in place and please expect delays.

Transport Canberra and City Services (TCCS) and Canberra Metro are working hard to complete construction and to ensure these closures cause as little disruption as possible. We thank the public for their continued understanding and patience during these interruptions.
