Changes to public transport, Libraries ACT and waste collection services for Easter 2021

This coming Easter long weekend will see changes to public transport timetables, library services and waste collection services as per normal practice.

Public transport:

Transport Canberra and Canberra Metro Operations (CMET) will run to a Sunday timetable and frequency for the following dates:

  • Friday 2 April 2021 – Good Friday
  • Sunday 4 April 2021 – Easter Sunday
  • Monday 5 April 2021 – Easter Monday

Saturday 3 April 2021 will continue to operate to a Saturday timetable and frequency.

Passengers can use a MyWay Card that is topped up with sufficient funds to travel to ensure they receive the cheapest fare. Passengers are encouraged register their MyWay card.

Passengers are reminded to only use public transport for essential travel and to consider travelling on off-peak periods where possible to help avoid crowding. Additionally, to keep the drivers stay safe, passengers must enter and exit the bus via the rear doors at all stops.

If you are feeling unwell, please do not use public transport.

Libraries ACT:

All library branches & return chutes are closed over Easter from Good Friday 2 April till Monday 5 April 2021.

Online services will remain available for library users.

All library branches and chutes will open as normal on Tuesday 6 April 2021.

Waste collection services:

Due to the Good Friday public holiday, bin collections scheduled in suburbs on Friday 2 April 2021 will occur the following day on Saturday 3 April 2021.

Affected suburbs include:

  • Campbell
  • City
  • Deakin
  • Dickson
  • Downer
  • Forrest
  • Fyshwick
  • Franklin
  • Griffith
  • Gungahlin

  • Narrabundah

  • O’Connor

  • Red Hill

  • Watson

Household waste collections for Monday 5 April 2021 will proceed as usual.

Domestic Animal Services:

The Domestic Animal Services shelter at Symonston will be closed on Good Friday 2 April 2021 and Easter Monday 5 April 2021. Rangers will continue to respond to any call outs and residents can call Access Canberra on 13 22 81 to report a dog attack or injured dog or cat.
