Committees of Cabinet

A meeting of the Budget Committee was held.  Officials joined with Ministers to discuss matters of fiscal significance.

Transfer of Arscott House to the University of Canberra

Subsequent to a previous decision to support the University of Canberra in its application to the Commonwealth Government under the National Rental Affordability Scheme, Cabinet agreed to the direct sale of Block 42, 65 Belconnen (Arscott House) to the University of Canberra.  An assessment of the direct sale against the Planning and Development Regulation 2008 is available on the Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development Directorate Development Directorate Websiteimg-icn-extlink.

ACT Community Sector Reforms in the context of the Equal Remuneration Case

Cabinet considered possible reform areas in the context of the Fair Work Australia Community Sector Equal Remuneration Case.  Cabinet agreed that the Minister for Community Services release an options paper for consultation, discussing short and longer term reforms for the community services sector, following a final determination by Fair Work Australia.

Appointments

Magistrate

Cabinet agreed to endorse the appointment of David Mossop as full-time Magistrate.

Indigenous Official Visitor

Cabinet agreed a proposed appointment of an Indigenous Official Visitor, subject to Standing Committee consultation.
