As part of the ACT Government’s Open Government commitment, this document is a public summary of matters considered by Cabinet.  It is not intended to be a detailed set of minutes and does not cover all matters considered by Cabinet.  Among matters not covered are materials considered in the formation of the ACT budget, commercial and industrial matters under negotiation, as well as matters that would impact personal privacy, security and the ACT economy.  Nothing in this document can be considered a waiver of the Government’s executive privilege.

Committees of Cabinet

A meeting of the Budget Committee of Cabinet was held.  Treasury officials joined with Ministers to discuss matters of fiscal significance.

ACT Emergency Plan 2012

Cabinet agreed the revised ACT Emergency Plan 2012.  The Revised Plan has been developed in consultation with all ACT Government. The ACT Emergancy Plan 2012img-icn-extlink was informed in part by lessons learned following the Queensland floods in late 2010 early 2011 and findings of the Victorian Bushfire Royal Commission, along with local emergency events. 

Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment Framework for Infrastructure

Cabinet agreed to release for public comment the Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment Framework Discussion Paper.  This Discussion Paperimg-icn-extlink  proposes a framework for assessing the vulnerability of ACT infrastructure to climate change.  The framework is intended to provide Government with a diagnostic tool to assist in considering climate change and its impacts during the planning, development, renewal, maintenance and management of public infrastructure.

Appointments

Jerrabomberra Wetlands Nature Reserve Board of Management

Cabinet agreed to endorse the appointment of Mr Ian Lawrence and Dr Jane Roberts as part-time members to the Jerrabomberra Wetlands Nature Reserve Board of Management.

University of Canberra Council

Cabinet agreed to endorse appointment of part-time members to the University of Canberra Council, subject to Standing Committee consultation.

Crime Prevention and Community Safety Forum

Cabinet agreed to endorse the following part time appointments to the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Forum:

  • Mr Paul Flint
  • Mr Brendan Church
  • Mr Peter Dwyer
  • Ms Carrie Fowlie
  • Ms Sue Salthouse
