As part of the ACT Government’s Open Government commitment, this document is a public summary of matters considered by Cabinet.  It is not intended to be a detailed set of minutes and does not cover all matters considered by Cabinet.  Among matters not covered are materials considered in the formation of the ACT budget, commercial and industrial matters under negotiation, as well as matters that would impact personal privacy, security and the ACT economy.  Nothing in this document can be considered a waiver of the Government’s executive privilege.

Committees of Cabinet

Two meetings of the Budget Committee of Cabinet were held.  Treasury officials joined with Ministers to discuss matters of fiscal significance.

A meeting of the Urban Development Committee of Cabinet was also held.  Relevant officials joined with Ministers to discuss matters of development and planning significance.

Review of Processes for the Delivery of Capital Works and Projects Associated with Land Development

Cabinet agreed the ACT Government’s response to the Industry Reference Group (IRG) Discussion Paper on Review of Processes for the Delivery of Capital Works and Projects Associated with land Development.  The IRG Discussion Paper and Government Response are available on the Economic Development Directorateimg-icn-extlink.

Statement of Government Policy – Land Policy and Development Objectives for 2012-13

Cabinet agreed the Annual Statement of Government Policy: Land Policy and Development Objectives for 2012-13 available on the Economic Development Directorate websiteimg-icn-extlink and on the LDA websiteimg-icn-extlink.  The Statement informs the preparation of the Land Development Agency’s Statement of Intent, and outlines how the policy fits within existing governance arrangements; and meets key objectives and deliverables.

Molonglo Valley Stage 2 – Planning and Land Development

Cabinet discussed planning and development matters in relation to Molonglo Valley Stage 2.  Molonglo Valley stage 2 is projected to provide new housing for up to 18,000 residents.  It will provide a range of housing choice, including affordable housing and land for community facilities.  A map of Molonglo Valley Stage 2 is available on the Environment and Sustainable Development Directorate Websiteimg-icn-extlink.

Appointment

ACT Long Service Leave Authority Board

Cabinet agreed to endorse a proposed appointment to the ACT Long Service Leave Authority Board, subject to Standing Committee consultation.
