As part of the ACT Government's Open Government commitment, this document is a public summary of matters considered by Cabinet.  It is not intended to be a detailed set of minutes and does not cover all matters considered by Cabinet.  Among matters not covered are materials considered in the formation of the ACT budget, commercial and industrial matters under negotiation, as well as matters that would impact personal privacy, security and the ACT economy.  Nothing in this document can be considered a waiver of the Government's executive privilege.

Committees of Cabinet

A meeting of the Budget Committee of Cabinet was held.  Treasury officials joined with Ministers to discuss matters of fiscal significance.

A meeting of the Urban Development Committee of Cabinet was also held.  Relevant officials joined with Ministers to discuss matters of development and planning significance.

Government Response to the Standing Committee on Administration and Procedure

Cabinet agreed to the Government Response to the Standing Committee on Administration and Procedure Report Number 4: Officers of the Parliamentimg-icn-extlink.  The Government Response was provided to the Committee and Tabled in the Legislative Assembly on 7 June 2012.

Strengthening Service Planning – A Final Framework

Cabinet endorsed and agreed the public release of Achieving Results for the Community: A Strategic Planning Framework for the ACT Government. The Framework enhances ACT Government service planning. The Framework, along with a preliminary paper developed by the Centre for International Economics, is available on the Chief Minister and Cabinet Websiteimg-icn-extlink

Animal Welfare Legislation (Factory Farming) Private Member's Bill

Cabinet agreed the Government Position in relation to the Greens' Private Member's Bill, Animal Welfare Legislation (Factory Farming) Amendment Bill 2012.

Government Response to the Independent Competition and Regulatory Commission

Cabinet agreed the Government Response to the Independent Competition and Regulatory Commission (ICRC) final report – Investigation into the ACT Racing Industryimg-icn-extlink. The Government Response will be publicly released shortly.

Appointments

Territory Records Advisory Council

Cabinet agreed to endorse the proposed appointments to the Territory Records Advisory Council, subject to consultation with the Standing Committee on Public Accounts.

ACT Natural Resource Management Council

Cabinet agreed to endorse the proposed reappointment of the following people to the ACT Natural Resource Management Council:
* Dr Sarah Ryan
* Mr Bill McCormick
* Dr David Shorthouse
