As part of the ACT Government’s Open Government commitment, this document is a public summary of matters considered by Cabinet. It is not intended to be a detailed set of minutes and does not cover all matters considered by Cabinet. Among the matters not covered are materials considered in the formation of the ACT budget, commercial and industrial matters under negotiation as well as matters that would impact personal privacy, security and the ACT economy. Nothing in this document can be considered a waiver of the Government’s executive privilege.

Direct Sale of Block 1 Section 23 Coombs to the Land Development Agency

Cabinet agreed the Land Development Agency is eligible for a Direct sale of Block 1 Section 23 Coombs in accordance with section 240(1)(a) of the Planning and Development Act 2007.  A map of Block 1 Section 23 Coombs and the eligibility criteria assessment are available on the Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development Directorate Websiteimg-icn-extlink.

Action Plan for Accessible Public Transport in the ACT 2013 – 2018

Cabinet agreed the Action Plan for Accessible Public Transport in the ACT 2013—2018.  The 2013-2018 Action Plan recognises that accessible public transport is a crucial factor in improving the quality of life for people with disabilities. Cabinet agreed the Attorney General table the 2013-2018 Action Plan in the Legislative Assembly, and that a copy be lodged on behalf of the ACT Government with the Australian Human Rights Commission.  The Action Plan will be publically available on the Justice and Community Safety Websiteimg-icn-extlink following tabling.

Government Submission to the Standing Committee on Education, Training and Youth Affairs

Cabinet agreed the ACT Government submission to the Standing Committee on Education, Training and Youth Affairs, in relation to the Inquiry into vocational education and youth training programs in the ACT.  The Government submission provides a comprehensive picture of the publicly-funded vocational education and training activities for youth in the ACT.  The Government submission will be made publicly available by the Committee, following consideration.

ACT Strengthening Families Outcomes Framework

Cabinet agreed to implement the ACT Strengthening Families Outcomes Framework.  The Framework will provide increased understanding of the factors influencing the vulnerability of ACT families under four broad social outcomes: healthy communities, educated communities, inclusive communities and safe communities.  Implementation will include a pilot stage prior to full implementation in 2014-2015.  The Framework and associated documents are available on the Community Services Directorate Websiteimg-icn-extlink.

Service Planning: Development of Transformational Service Advice

Cabinet noted the development of Directorates’ Transformational Service Advice. This advice is part of the Strategic Service Planning Frameworkimg-icn-extlink being implemented by Chief Minister and Treasury Directorate. Transformational Service Advice will be further developed to guide reform and improvement of government services. Appointments

ACT Magistrates Court

Cabinet agreed to endorse the appointment of Ms Amanda Nuttall as Deputy Coroner, ACT Magistrates Court.

Government Schools Education Council

Cabinet agreed to endorse a proposed appointment to the Government Schools Education Council subject to Standing Committee consultation.

Ministerial Council on Ageing

Cabinet agreed to endorse the following appointments to the Ministerial Council on Ageing:
