Committees of Cabinet

A meeting of the Budget Committee of Cabinet was convened.  Treasury officials joined with Ministers to discuss matters of economic and fiscal significance.

2013-14 Budget Review

Budget Committee of Cabinet agreed to the structure and content of the 2013-14 Budget Reviewimg-icn-extlink, and were advised that the Review would be tabled in the Legislative Assembly on 25 February 2014.

Land Development Agency – Statement of Government Policy

The government annually issues a statement of government policy, incorporating objectives and deliverables for land and development to guide the operation of the Land Development Agency.  Cabinet agreed to endorse the Statement of Government Policy for the Land Development Agency for 2014-15img-icn-extlink.

Direct sale to Khemararangsi Buddhist Temple of the ACT Incorporated

Cabinet agreed to the direct sale of Block 26 Section 43 Scullin to the Khemararangsi Buddhist Temple of the ACT Incorporated for the purpose of a place of worship and religious associated uses.  A map of the relevant block and eligibility criteria assessment are available on the Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development Directorate websiteimg-icn-extlink.

Canberra Brickworks and Environs Planning Strategy – Further Information

Cabinet agreed to the statutory and environmental clearance processes being undertaken in order to facilitate the conservation of the Canberra Brickworks Complex in Yarralumla.

Results of the Public Consultation on the Draft Heritage Legislation Amendment Bill 2013

Cabinet noted the results of the four week public consultation on the draft Heritage Legislation Amendment Bill 2013.

Appointments subject to Assembly Standing Committee consultation

Cabinet agreed to endorse proposed appointments to the following entities, subject to Standing Committee consultation:

  • Government Schools Education Council
  • Non-government Schools Education Council
  • ACT Teacher Quality Institute Board
  • Sentence Administration Board

Youth Advisory Council

Cabinet agreed to endorse the following re-appointments of part-time position holders to the Youth Advisory Council:

  • Mr Benjamin Kane, Co-Chair
  • Ms Ashly Vu, Co-Chair
  • Ms Hannah Denny-Collins
  • Mr Timothy Fulton
  • Ms Amy Westcott

Ministerial Advisory Council on Women

Cabinet agreed to endorse the following re-appointments of members of the Ministerial Advisory Council on Women:
