Committees of Cabinet

Capital Metro Subcommittee of Cabinet

A meeting of the Capital Metro Subcommittee of Cabinet was convened. Ministers joined with officials to discuss key elements to support the effective development and delivery of the Capital Metro project.

Budget Committee of Cabinet

Meetings of the Budget Committee of Cabinet were convened. Officials joined with Ministers to discuss matters of economic and fiscal significance.

Economic Stimulus for the ACT

Cabinet agreed an economic stimulus package which includes:

  • releasing civil contracts for estate works in Moncrieff;
  • changes to lease variation charges (LVC);
  • a significant reduction in extension of time (EOT) commence and complete development fees; and
  • proposed amendments to planning and development legislation to garner greater efficiencies and responsiveness for the planning system.

Strengthening Families Initiative – Project and Evaluation Reports

Cabinet agreed to continue and increase the Strengthening Families Initiative and release the final project report and evaluation reportimg-icn-extlink. The initiative is a One Government demonstration project implemented by the Directors-General Strengthening Families Committee.

The development of an integrated service response for families with multiple needs was identified as a key output to be delivered by the Directors-General Strengthening Families Committee.

Brand Canberra Activation

Cabinet noted the strategic direction of the Brand Canberra project and agreed to release the consultation listimg-icn-extlink.

Appointments

NRMA-ACT Road Safety Trust

Cabinet agreed to endorse the proposed appointment of Dr Karl Alderson as ACT Government Trustee to the NRMA-ACT Road Safety Trust.
