18 November 2014 - Summary of Cabinet Outcomes

As part of the ACT Government's Open Government commitment, this document is a public summary of matters considered by Cabinet. It is not intended to be a detailed set of minutes and does not cover all matters considered by Cabinet. Among matters not covered are materials considered in the formation of the ACT budget, commercial and industrial matters under negotiation, as well as matters that would impact personal privacy, security and the ACT economy. Nothing in this document can be considered a waiver of the Government's executive privilege.

Budget Sub-Committee of Cabinet

A Budget Committee of Cabinet meeting was convened Treasury officials joined Ministers to discuss matters of fiscal significance.  The Treasurer provided Cabinet with information pertaining to the 2015-16 Budget consultation process.

Strategic Board meeting with Cabinet

Directors-General presented efforts by Directorates to improve the effectiveness and customer service orientation of their operations.

2014-15 Infrastructure Plan Update

Cabinet discussed the 2014-15 Infrastructure Plan Update.

Capital Metro Project – Probity Plan and Probity Protocol

The Capital Metro Sub-Committee of Cabinet discussed Probity Protocols for the procurement process of the Capital Metro Project.

Capital Metro – Extension Update

The Capital Metro Sub-Committee of Cabinet received an update on the analysis of the option to extend the Capital Metro Stage 1 project.

Constitution Avenue Pavement Design Options

Cabinet discussed pavement design options for the Constitution Avenue upgrade

Appointments

    Legal Aid Commission appointment

    Cabinet agreed to endorse the appointment of President to the Legal Aid Commission for a period of five years, subject to Standing Committee consultation.

    Climate Change Council appointments 2014

    Cabinet agreed to endorse the appointment of one new member and the re-appointment of three existing members of the ACT Climate Change Council for a period of three years, commencing on the first day after notification. These appointments will be subject to Standing Committee consultation.

    ACT Heritage Council appointments

    Cabinet agreed to endorse the appointment of a part-time Chair, part-time Deputy Chair and four new part-time members of the ACT Heritage Council for a period of three years, commencing on 2 March 2015. These appointments will be subject to Standing Committee consultation.
