SUMMARY OF CABINET OUTCOMES WEEK COMMENCING 27 APRIL 2015

As part of the ACT Government’s Open Government commitment, this document is a public summary of matters considered by Cabinet. It is not intended to be a detailed set of minutes and does not cover all matters considered by Cabinet. Among matters not covered are materials considered in the formation of the ACT budget, commercial and industrial matters under negotiation, as well as matters that would impact personal privacy, security and the ACT economy. Nothing in this document can be considered a waiver of the Government’s executive privilege.

Committees of Cabinet

The Budget and Expenditure Review Committees of Cabinet were convened. Treasury officials joined Ministers to discuss matters of fiscal significance.

Transport Reform Subcommittee

A meeting was convened for the Transport Reform Subcommittee of Cabinet. Ministers and relevant officials discussed issues concerning the ACT’s integrated transport network, including active travel and parking.

Draft Variation 347 – University of Canberra

Cabinet endorsed a draft Territory Plan variation to support development at the University of Canberra campus to allow it to pursue opportunities for expansion and growth.

Loose Fill Asbestos Insulation Eradication Scheme

Cabinet received an update on the Loose Fill Asbestos Insulation Eradication Scheme.

Appointments to the Racing Appeals Tribunal

Cabinet endorsed appointments to the Racing Appeals Tribunal for a period of three years each, subject to consultation with the Standing Committee on Public Accounts.

Appointments to the ACT Gambling and Racing Commission Governing Board

Cabinet endorsed appointments to the ACT Gambling and Racing Commission Governing Board for a period of three years each, subject to consultation with the Standing Committee on Public Accounts.

Appointments to the Council of the University of Canberra

Cabinet endorsed appointments to the Council of the University of Canberra for a period of three years each, subject to consultation with the Standing Committee on Education, Training and Youth Affairs.
