SUMMARY OF CABINET OUTCOMES FOR WEEK COMMENCING 6 JULY 2015

Economic Growth & Urban Renewal Committee

An Economic Growth & Urban Renewal Subcommittee of Cabinet convened. Ministers and relevant officials discussed options for a range of urban renewal projects.

Social Inclusion & Equality Committee

A meeting was convened for the Social Inclusion & Equality Subcommittee of Cabinet. Ministers and relevant officials were discussed varying issues of social inclusion and equality impacting the Canberra community.

Intergovernmental memorandum of understanding agreement on common assessment method for listing of threatened species and ecological communities

Cabinet agreed to the Minister for the Environment signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that sets out the reforms and implementation plan for establishing a single, intergovernmental operational list of threatened species and ecological matters. The MoU allows for reforms that would simplify regulations across jurisdictions in regards to assessing nationally and regionally threatened matters.

Appointments

Cabinet endorsed:

  • the proposed re-appointment of a part-time Member to the ACTRemuneration Tribunal; and
  • proposed appointment of  apart-time senior non-presidential member of the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
