SUMMARY OF CABINET OUTCOMES FOR 21 JULY 2015

Among matters not covered are materials considered in the formation of the ACT budget, commercial and industrial matters under negotiation, as well as matters that would impact personal privacy, security and the ACT economy. Majura road widening

The Budget Committee of Cabinet endorsed the reallocation of savings from other projects to fund the widening of Majura Road (between Fairbairn Avenue and Mustang Avenue) to four lanes to increase road capacity, improve traffic flow and safety, and reduce delays for motorists accessing the Majura Park business precinct.

Australian Leaders' Retreat and Council of Australian Governments Meeting – 22 and 23 July 2015

Cabinet noted the ACT's position on the key issues listed for discussion at the Leaders' Retreat and special meeting of the Council Australian Governments on 22 and 23 July 2015, which will be attended by the Chief Minister. These issues include possible federation reform, counter terrorism, reducing violence against women and the National Ice Strategy.

Spring 2015 Legislation Program

Cabinet endorsed the Spring 2015 Legislation Program, which details all proposed legislation items and introduction dates, and includes key themes and priority legislation.

Government Responses to Assembly Committee Reports – 2013-2014 Annual and Financial Reports

Cabinet endorsed the proposed government responses to reports by five assembly standing committees into the 2013-2014 Annual and Financial Reports.

Government Response to Auditor-General's Report No. 4 of 2014: Gastroenterology and Hepatology Unit, Canberra Hospital

Cabinet endorsed the proposed government response to the Auditor-General's Report No. 4 of 2014: Gastroenterology and Hepatology Unit, Canberra Hospital.

Workers Compensation Quarterly Reports

Cabinet noted Workers' Compensation Improvement Strategies for a number of directorates against key performance indicators.

Appointments

Cabinet endorsed:

  • the proposed appointment of two 'Community' Membersto the Domestic Violence Prevention Council for a period of three years, subject to consultation with the Standing Committee on Justice and Community Safety;
  • the appointment of a Member to the MinisterialAdvisory Council on Ageing, effective from 20 August 2015 to 31 December 2015; and
  • the appointment of Acting Judges to the ACT SupremeCourt.

Cabinet Secretary
