SUMMARY OF CABINET OUTCOMES FOR 4 MAY 2015

As part of the ACT Government's Open Government commitment, this document is a public summary of matters considered by Cabinet. Among matters not covered are materials considered in the formation of the ACT budget, commercial and industrial matters under negotiation, as well as matters that would impact personal privacy, security and the ACT economy. Committees of Cabinet

The Budget and Expenditure Review Committees of Cabinet were convened. Treasury officials joined Ministers to discuss matters of fiscal significance.

Board of Senior Secondary Studies Amendment Bill 2015

Cabinet discussed the Board of Senior Secondary Studies Amendment Bill 2015. The Bill includes a number of amendments including provision for:

  • proxy voting from Board members when they are unable to attend meetings;
  • Board members to be appointed after consultation with relevanteducational, business and industry organisations; and
  • the functions of the Board to cover course delivery, assessment andcertification services to overseas schools.

Children and Young People Amendment Bill 2015 (No. 2)

Cabinet discussed the Children and Young People Amendment Bill 2015 (No. 2). The Bill includes amendments relating to the oversight of Care and Protection Organisations.
