Summary of cabinet outcomes for the week of 12 June 2017

Among matters not covered are materials considered in the formation of the ACT budget, commercial and industrial matters under negotiation, as well as matters that would impact personal privacy, security and the ACT economy. Economic Development Subcommittee

A meeting of the Economic Development Subcommittee was convened. Ministers and officials discussed economic development matters currently affecting the ACT.

Review of the administration and distribution of the City Centre Marketing and Improvements Levy

Cabinet agreed to the Review of the administration and distribution of the City Centre Marketing and Improvements Levy.

Proposed Governance Arrangements for Light Rail

Cabinet agreed to the proposed governance structure for light rail in the ACT.

Policing Arrangement

Cabinet agreed to the Minister for Police and Emergency Services entering into an inter-governmental agreement with the Commonwealth Government to provide for ACT Government to purchase community policing services from the Australian Federal Police.

Amendment to the National Partnership Agreement on Legal Assistance Services 2015-20

Cabinet agreed on amendments to the National Partnership Agreement on Legal Assistance Services 2015-20 to provide additional Commonwealth funding to ACT community legal centres for family law and family violence services.

Greyhound Racing Industry Transition

Cabinet considered the Greyhound Racing Industry Transition Options Analysis, and agreed to establish a framework for the transition to the end of the industry during 2017-18.

Cabinet endorsed appointment(s) to the:

  • Icon Water Limited Board;
  • Architects Board;
  • Magistrates Court;
  • ACT Law Reform Advisory Council;
  • Official Visitor – Corrections Management Act; and
  • Victims Advisory Board.
