Committees of Cabinet

A meeting of the Budget Committee of Cabinet was convened. Ministers and Treasury officials discussed items of fiscal importance to the ACT.

ACT Government Land Agency Governance Arrangements

Cabinet agreed to new governance arrangements for ACT Government land agencies giving effect to the Government’s announcement in September 2016 that it would to divide the work of the Land Development Agency between new entities: one focussed on leading and facilitating the redevelopment of Civic and the Northbourne Avenue Corridor, and the other on developing new suburbs.

Liquor and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2017

Cabinet agreed to the development of a Liquor and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2017, making amendments to the Liquor Act 2010 and the Liquor Regulation 2010 (the Liquor Legislation), and a new Liquor (Fees) Determination 2017 to reduce alcohol related harm, support a vibrant night time economy, improve the administration of the legislation and reduce unnecessary regulatory burden.
