The ACT Government is directly employing 71 new staff to provide more services across our growing city.
This $2.2 million investment will provide secure work opportunities for vulnerable Canberrans and provide high quality city services to the community.
The insourced workforce will be flexible and provide temporary traffic management for road repairs, special events, and other important services like mowing and litter picking.
Weighbridge operators at resource management centres and school crossing supervisors at schools will also be delivered by ACT Government staff.
Staff will also be recruited to provide more trail maintenance and horticulture services at Stromlo Forest Park as part of the Government’s commitment to improve our premier mountain biking facility.
