ACT Emergency Services Agency Staff recognised for long service

Released 18/12/2018

Twenty-one ACT Emergency Services Agency (ESA) staff who perform crucial roles working with front-line staff were today recognised for their commitment and long service to the ESA and ACT community.

I was honoured to award these dedicated staff with the ESA Long Service Medal, recognising their emergency management skills and service to the ACT over the past decade.

ESA has a range of staff working behind the scenes who play a vital role supporting emergency responders to keep the community safe, often in a high pressure environment.

Collectively, the 21 recipients have served an impressive 271 years of service to the ACT community since 2006 and have each served for more than 10 years.

They perform roles such mapping and spatial services, fleet procurement and maintenance, finance, volunteer support, logistics, training, community education, administration and internal communications. Without this support, our frontline staff wouldn’t be able to perform their incredibly important work.

I thank these extraordinary recipients for the work they do and for their commitment to serving Canberrans. I also acknowledge and thank the family and friends of our award recipients; your ongoing support does not go unnoticed.

The ESA Long Service Medal is a tangible acknowledgement of the appreciation and gratitude of the ESA and ACT Government for their continued effort and commitment.
