Music lovers can choose from more than 40 events across 10 days at the Canberra International Music Festival from today until Sunday, 12 May.

The ACT Government values the artistic and cultural life of our city and is proud to support the festival again this year through an investment of $107,834.

Minister for the Arts and Cultural Events, Gordon Ramsay said this year’s festival is expected to be one of the biggest yet with 42 events across a range of genres from chamber, classical, jazz, contemporary and world music.

“The Canberra International Music Festival is celebrating its 25th anniversary milestone with a world-class program focused on the great legacy of the master of music, Bach,” Minister Ramsay said.

“For 25 years the festival has offered audiences inspiring music in interesting places, and this year is no exception with 42 events to be held across a number of locations from smaller intimate galleries to the national cultural institutions.”

“It is a fantastic celebration of fine music and musicians from around the world attracting local and interstate visitors to Canberra with something to offer for all musical tastes. I am looking forward to another extraordinary festival this year,” said Minister Ramsay.
