Released 29/08/2017

Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) and leading national IT company Dialog are partnering to provide big futures for CIT graduates through the ICT Careers Program.

The collaborative program is specially designed to offer students a pathway into a great career in the IT industry. The program will offer up to 15 students studying the Certificate IV in Information Technology the opportunity to complete their studies as industry trainees for Dialog. Trainees will also be offered the opportunity to continue their learning by additionally completing the Diploma of Information Technology during their employment.

“Information technology skills are highly sought after by government and business, and we want to ensure the need for skills in IT are being met right here in the ACT,” said Minister for Higher Education, Training and Research Meegan Fitzharris.

“There’s a huge demand for IT workers with practical skills, and the collaboration between CIT and Dialog is set to take advantage of the significant employment opportunities locally, nationally and internationally for specialist technicians and analysts in IT.

“This is a great program for anyone wanting to get the skills needed to move into one of Australia’s fastest growing industries.”
