Consultation now open on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Procurement Policy

Released 31/01/2019

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander enterprises in the ACT, peak bodies and community members are invited to have their say to inform the ACT Government’s new Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Procurement Policy.

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Procurement Policy is another demonstration of the ACT Government’s commitment to supporting the economic, social and cultural development of Aboriginal and Torres Strait peoples.

The Policy will support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander enterprises in the ACT to compete for government work, and remove barriers to their participation in government procurement.

The ACT Government has already held targeted face to face conversations with bodies representing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander enterprises and is now seeking feedback from the wider community. Input gathered from these discussions will inform a workshop to be held over the coming weeks with participation from enterprises and other interested parties.

To nominate to attend a workshop or provide feedback on the draft policy, visit the ACT Government YourSay website: www.yoursay.act.gov.au

The consultation is open on YourSay until 17 February 2019, the workshop will be held the week of 11 February 2019.
