Enrolments about to open for 2020 school year

Released 26/04/2019

ACT public schools will be taking enrolments for the 2020 school year from next Monday 29 April 2019.

More than 49,000 Canberra children and young people attend our 88 public schools, supported by more than 3,800 teaching professionals.

Every ACT public school is a great school and every child from kindergarten through to Year 12 is guaranteed a place at their local school.

Due to growth in enrolments, some schools no longer have space for general out of area students, while others do. However, all schools will consider exceptional cases related to student wellbeing.

All ACT public schools deliver high quality education for our children and young people, putting the child at the centre of their learning experience.

All ACT public schools offer a broad choice of exciting learning opportunities, backed by excellent teachers and advanced technologies.

All ACT public schools are inclusive, welcoming learning environments with a focus on making all students feel safe, connected and respected. Public schools have a range of support programs and services in place to help all students, regardless of background, reach their potential.

To start the enrolment process from next Monday and for information on preschool, priority enrolment areas, enrolling out of area, and support programs, visit www.education.act.gov.au.

The Education Directorate will be raising awareness for the start of enrolments and of course you can contact your local school for more information.
