ACT Government can now receive eInvoices*
What is eInvoicing?
Electronic Invoicing (eInvoicing) is a standardised exchange of invoice information between suppliers’ and buyers’ applications. It provides suppliers with a secure way to send the ACT Government invoices to be processed in APIAS (via the Peppol network). APIAS (Accounts Payable Invoice Automation Solution) is a digital system transforming the way invoices are processed across Government.
With eInvoicing, suppliers do not need to generate paper-based or PDF invoices that must be printed and posted or emailed, and it removes the need for buyers to enter or scan invoices into their accounting system manually.

If your business is eInvoicing-enabled, here are some things to remember when sending eInvoices to the ACT Government:
- There are around 30 ACT Government ABNs enabled to receive eInvoices (see table below). Please check with your ACT Government contact to ensure you use the correct ACT Government Entity’s ABN when creating an eInvoice.
- Include your ACT Government contact’s full name.
- Where available, always add the Purchase Order number.
- Only use pdf, png or jpg files as attachments (up to 5 MB each or 20 MB combined).
- The ACT Government is committed to paying suppliers within 14 days after receiving a correctly rendered invoice.
Please note:
- eInvoicing is optional for suppliers and does not replace the current ACT Government invoicing process.
- If you have an existing invoice submission arrangement with the ACT Government (for example, your invoices are processed outside of APIAS), eInvoicing is not an option. Please review your contract to confirm invoice submission methods or speak to your ACT Government contact if you need clarification.
- If you have an ACT Government contract managed by PMARS, please do not use eInvoicing. Invoices must only be submitted via the PMARS SRM Portal. For any general PMARS inquiries, please email the PMARS Helpdesk at pmars@act.gov.au
